COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's cross country junior Abby French (Nashua, N.H./Academy of Notre Dame) was selected for a spot on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Sept. 16. The weekly accolade was the eighth of French's career.
French placed sixth among 76 finishers on Saturday at Middlebury College's Aldrich Invitational, clocking in at 20:16.3 during the 5K. She was the only harrier in the top 14 not hailing from Middlebury - which is ranked sixth in Division III by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) - or the University of Vermont, the 14th-ranked team in the USTFCCCA Division I Northeast Region. As a team, the Purple Knights were third out of nine. French has paced Saint Michael's in all 14 races over the past three seasons, finishing among the top 10 at eight meets.
The Purple Knights are back in action on Sept. 29 at the Vermont Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by Northern Vermont Union-Lyndon. The women's race begins at 1 p.m. before the men follow an hour later.
