KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Saint Michael's College women's volleyball team capped the two-day Kutztown (Pa.) University Classic with a pair of losses on Saturday in Keystone Arena against Notre Dame (Ohio) College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-6, 25-17), and Goldey-Beacom (Del.) College, 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-21).

  • The Purple Knights scored the opening two points of the match on Notre Dame errors before nabbing two one-point edges on Statile kills, at 3-2 and 4-3. The Falcons scored the next three points, but Fornabia's kill brought Saint Michael's within 6-5. Notre Dame slowly pulled away on the strength of a 19-7 run.
  • Set No. 2 began with a Statile kill, while Gallagher kills kept it 2-2 before edging the Purple and Gold within 5-3. Down just 6-4 after a Falcon service error, Saint Michael's yielded a 19-2 run.
  • Notre Dame forged 6-1 and 7-2 leads in the third set before kills from Statile and Gallaher sparked a 6-1 run that made it 8-7. The Falcons went up 14-8, but Statile's kill capped a 4-1 counter. Notre Dame slowly pulled away behind a 9-3 run.

  • Kills from Statile and Scott helped stake Saint Michael's to a 3-1 lead in the opening set before two Roman Concepcion aces keyed a 6-0 counter, which sparked an 18-3 run.
  • Przywara's ace put the Lightning up 6-1 in the second set before Cruz's ace came amid a 5-1 run that created a 12-9 margin. However, three Spendlove aces triggered a 6-0 stretch that put Goldey-Beacom up 20-10, and the Purple Knights never again came within seven points.
