COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's soccer junior Greta Ricigliano (Milwaukee, Wis./Nicolet), sophomore Taryn Manna (Shirley, Mass./Home Schooled) and first-year Adrianna Gomez (Okinawa, Japan/Kadena) all earned spots on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Sept. 9.
Ricigliano scored three times during a 1-1 week, matching her total from her first 33 career games. In more of an attacking role this season after appearing out of the midfield as an underclassman, Ricigliano netted two markers against Northern Vermont University-Lyndon on Tuesday before staking the Purple Knights to a lead with a fourth-minute goal in a 3-1 loss at Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday. She is tied for third in the NE10 in goals and tied for eighth in points (6).
Manna scored three times, including a game-winner, last week. All of her damage was done against Northern Vermont-Lyndon, when Manna potted the winner in the ninth minute and tacked on a pair of second-half tallies for her first collegiate hat trick. After netting one goal as a first-year, when she landed an NE10 All-Rookie Team nod, Manna is also tied for third in the league in goals and tied for eighth in points (6).
Gomez posted two goals and an assist in her lone appearance last week, versus Northern Vermont-Lyndon. She lent an assist in the 39th minute on the Purple Knights' third goal before scoring in the 45th and 71st minutes. Gomez is the first Saint Michael's player to register at least five points off the bench since Laura Anacone '09 had a hat trick at Georgian Court (N.J.) University on Sept. 12, 2005.
At 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the league, the Purple Knights break until heading to the University of New Haven on Saturday at 7 p.m.
