COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College swimming & diving seniors Connor Hopkins (Windham, N.H./Windham) and Sarah White (Lakeville, Mass./Apponequet Regional) were both named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Nov. 3. Hopkins earned his third award this year, and second Weekly Honor Roll nod, while White was lauded with her first accolade.
Hopkins won three events during a 152.5-53.5 victory at Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday, playing a hand in two pool records. Hopkins won the 50- (25.70) and 200-yard backstroke (2:03.28), with the latter a pool mark, while anchoring the winning 800-yard freestyle relay (7:49.68), which also broke a facility standard. Both backstroke times were second-best in the NE10 this season. For the year, the captain leads the Purple Knights in both overall (7) and individual (5) event victories while tying for the top spot in relay triumphs (2).
White won all four of her events on Saturday in a 152-119 win at Colby-Sawyer. She won the 50- (28.95) and 200-yard butterfly (2:27.12) while swimming for the top 200-yard medley relay (1:58.33) and anchoring the fastest 800 free relay (8:36.53), which set a pool record. White's 50 fly time was good for third in the NE10 this year. The captain is tied for first on the team in total (4), solo (2) and relay (2) victories.
Midway through the fall segment of their seasons, the Saint Michael's men are 1-3 while the women stand 2-2. The women host Division I Merrimack College on Friday for a Think Pink meet at 4 p.m. before both teams host Clarkson University for their first-semester dual finale on Nov. 16 at 1 p.m.
