COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College swimming & diving teams landed four student-athletes on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 20. Senior Tim Kinville (Colchester, Vt./Missisquoi Valley Union) and junior Connor Hopkins (Windham, N.H./Windham) represented the men's side, while senior Patty Kohn (Weston, Conn./Greenwich) and junior Sarah White (Lakeville, Mass./Apponequet Regional) hailed from the women's team.
Kinville won all four diving events over a 1-1 week last week. During a 161-124 victory over Norwich University on Thursday, he topped both one-meter diving competitions, netting 111.10 points in the initial event and 167.40 in the second. Kinville then scored 117.30 and 159.30 points in the first and second one-meter diving events, respectively, against The College of Saint Rose in a 129-86 loss on Friday. Kinville now has seven individual diving wins this season after totaling two in his first two year combined.
Hopkins won five times with two second-place finishes last week. Against Norwich, he topped the 100- (25.29) and 200-yard backstroke (55.05) while leading off for the top 200-yard medley relay (1:42.89) and anchoring the winning 400-yard freestyle relay (1:31.75). Versus Saint Rose, Hopkins won the 200 back (2:02.28) while taking second during the 50 free (22.01) and anchoring the runner-up 400 free relay (3:22.59). Hopkins leads the men's squad in overall (23), individual (13) and relay (10) victories this year.
Kohn was a perfect 7-for-7 during a 1-1 week for the women. In a 148-114 win over Norwich on Thursday, Kohn won the 100 back (1:02.96) and 1,000 free (11:34.38) while leading off for the top 200 medley relay (1:58.10) and aiding in the 400 free relay (1:49.08) victory. She added wins in the 200 free (2:03.49), 500 free (5:31.05) and 400 free relay (3:56.24) during a 108-88 loss to Saint Rose on Friday. Kohn pushed her career wins total to 92 during the Saint Rose meet and leads the women's team in overall (28) and individual (17) wins this season, reaching career highs in both categories while matching her high in relay triumphs (11).
White won all six events she entered during the two meets last week. She won the 100 back (29.66) and 100-yard butterfly (28.57) while completing legs for the top 200 medley relay (1:58.10) and 400 free relay (1:49.08) in the win over Norwich. Against Saint Rose, White anchored the winning 400 free relay (3:56.24) and swam the third leg for the winning 400 medley relay (4:45.44). White leads the women's team in relay wins (13), is second in total victories (21), and is third in individual wins (8). She has career highs in all three categories.
The Purple Knight men's team now sits at 3-4 on the season, while the women's team is 3-5. Both teams go on the road for their final regular-season meet on Sunday as they face off against Saint Lawrence University at 1 p.m.
