COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's swimming & diving junior Genevieve Gigandet (Groveland, Mass./Central Catholic) was named Northeast-10 Conference Diver of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Nov. 13. Sophomore Patty Kohn (Weston, Conn./Greenwich) earned a spot on the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll.
Gigandet won all four diving events during a 2-0 weekend, moving to 6-0 this season and extending her winning streak in dual-meet one-meter diving competitions to 11 events. During a 129-94 win over Merrimack College on Friday, she notched 187.10 points in the first one-meter competition before totaling 130.10 in the second. In a 146-86 win over Clarkson University on Saturday, Gigandet bested a pair of three-diver fields in one-meter events, totaling 157.25 in her first win and 124.35 in her second.
Kohn earned six wins in as many events during her team's 2-0 weekend. Versus Merrimack, she won the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.63) and 500 free (5:32.30) while leading off for the top 200-yard medley relay (1:58.05). During a meet whose events were measured in meters and not yards, Kohn won the 200 free (2:20.07) and 400 free (4:58.11) while anchoring the top 400 free relay (4:28.12) at Clarkson. Kohn leads all Purple Knights with nine victories this season while tying Gigandet for first place in individual wins.
The Purple Knight women are 3-0 for the first time in three years, while the men are 1-1. Both head to in-state rival Norwich University on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
