    COLCHESTER, Vt. - Three Saint Michael's College men's soccer student-athletes were named to the Northeast-10 Conference 2008 All-Academic Team, it was announced on Friday. The trio includes senior Tim Warren (Rehoboth, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth Regional), at left, junior Jared Berry (Barrington, R.I./Barrington), and sophomore Ryan Beck (Salt Lake City, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic).
  • Men's And Women's Soccer Teams Receive NSCAA Academic Award

    COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's and women's soccer teams earned a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Team Academic Award for the 2007-08 academic year, it was recently announced. Only 65 schools in the country had both their men's and women's soccer programs honored by the NSCAA, and Saint Michael's is the only Northeast-10 Conference school to have both soccer programs recognized.
  • Jeff Moulton Named Men's Soccer Assistant Coach

    COLCHESTER, Vt. – Jeff Moulton, the boy’s soccer head coach at nearby Bellow Free Academy-Saint Albans the last five seasons, has been named men’s soccer assistant coach at Saint Michael’s College, it was announced by head coach James Franklin today. Moulton has been coaching high school soccer at BFA-Saint Albans since 1995, including the last five years as the boy’s varsity soccer head coach.

    COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College senior Tim Warren (Rehoboth, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth Regional) was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team, it was announced on Friday. For Warren, it marks the second straight year that he has earned Third Team All-Conference honors.
  • Men's Soccer Suffers Season-Ending 4-3 Loss At Bentley

    WALTHAM, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College men's soccer team (7-8-2, 4-6-2 Northeast-10 Conference) saw its season come to an end in heartbreaking fashion on Tuesday, falling at Bentley University, 4-3. The loss knocks Saint Michael's out of the playoffs, as Bentley earns a postseason berth with the win. Junior Jared Berry (Barrington, R.I./Barrington) had a goal and an assist for the Purple Knights, who led with less than five minutes remaining in regulation.
  • Beck Named To NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll

    COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College sophomore Ryan Beck (Salt Lake City, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced Monday. Beck recorded two assists in a 3-2 win over Assumption College on Saturday. Beck and the Purple Knights close out the regular season tomorrow at Bentley University for a 3 p.m. start. With a win or a tie, Saint Michael's will clinch a playoff spot in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.

    COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Saint Michael’s College men’s soccer team (7-7-3, 4-5-3 NE-10) edged the Greyhounds of Assumption College (5-6-5, 4-4-4 NE-10) 3-2, on “Senior Day.” Sophomore Ryan Beck (Salt Lake City, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic) handed out two assists to help lead Saint Michael's to the victory. The Purple Knights keep their playoff hopes alive, and wrap up the regular season on Wednesday, when they travel to take on league-rival Bentley University at 3 p.m.

    LOWELL, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts Lowell scored the lone goal of the game with less than eight minutes left in regulation, besting Saint Michael's College, 1-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday. Junior Jason Burnett (South Burlington, Vt./IMG Academy) stopped six shots for the Purple Knights, who play their final home game of the season on Saturday versus Assumption College in a 3:30 p.m. "Senior Day" contest.

Burnett recorded four saves in a 0-0 double overtime tie against Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday. The junior has not let up a goal in 310:00 minutes in net, while leading the Purple Knights to a 1-0-2 record in their last three contests. Burnett and Saint Michael's are back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to take on Northeast-10 Conference opponent UMass Lowell for a 7 p.m. start.

The Purple Knights are back in action on Wednesday, when they travel down to league-rival UMass Lowell for a 7 p.m. start.

Burnett didn't allow a goal in 200 minutes of action last week, while Pierce (left) scored just 27 seconds into the game in Tuesday's 1-0 win versus the College of Saint Rose.

    COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael’s College (6-6-1, 3-4-1 NE-10) shut out the Golden Knights of The College of Saint Rose (1-10-1, 0-8-1 NE-10) 1-0, Tuesday afternoon on Duffy Field. The Purple Knights out shot Saint Rose 13-8 on the afternoon. Sophomore Rob Pierce (Charlotte, Vt./Westminster School) netted the game's lone goal. Pierce's score, which came 27 seconds into the game, is a new Purple Knight record for the fastest goal scored. The Purple Knights are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 11 when they play host to league-rival American International College at 2:30 p.m.

Senior Tim Warren (Rehoboth, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth) headed in the game-winning goal off of a corner kick with 20 minutes remaining as Saint Michael's snapped its three-game losing skid. Saint Michael's returns to action on Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. home game versus the College of Saint Rose on Duffy Field at Doc Jacobs Complex.

The Purple Knights missed a penalty kick in the 87th minute that would have knotted the score. The Dolphins jumped out to an early lead on the Purple Knights who added a late second half goal. Junior Jared Berry (Barrington, R.I./Barrington) scored the lone goal for the Purple Knights on a penalty kick late in the second half. The Purple Knights are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 30 when they travel to play league-rival Merrimack for a 4 p.m. start.

The Ravens got off 22 shots in the contest, while the Purple Knights had seven. Junior Jason Burnett (South Burlington, Vt./IMG Academy) set aside ten shots in net for the Purple Knights in the loss. Saint Michael’s is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 27 to play host to league-rival Le Moyne College at 1 p.m.

Burnett recorded nine saves while going 1-0-1 last week, while Malvey scored two goals in a 3-1 vicotry over the University of New Haven on Saturday. The Purple Knights proved to be too much for the Badgers, out shooting them 23-5, and 15-2 in the first half. Senior Sean Malvey (Sturbridge, Mass./Tantasqua Regional) scored his third goal in two games to help lead the Purple Knights to victory. Saint Michael’s returns to action at home on Wednesday, to take on conference-rival Franklin Pierce University at 4 p.m.

Saint Michael's snapped a three-game winless drought, and scored as many goals as it had in the team's first six games combined.     The second day of the DoubleTree Kickoff Classic saw Saint Michael’s College lose in heart-breaking fashion to the Golden Falcons of Felician College 1-0. In a high-shooting affair, the Warriors of Merrimack College defeated the Lions of Molloy College 3-2, in the first game of the double-header. Fraser Watson (Gloucester, Mass./Gloucester), at left, was named to the All-Tournament team after leading the Purple Knights to a 1-1 weekend. Robbie Sabadoz (Ottawa, Ontario) was named Tournament Most Valuable Player, finishing the tournament with three goals and an assist.

Saint Michael’s College got its first victory of the season, and first year head coach James Franklin captured his first victory of his Purple Knight career, with a 2-1 victory over the Lions of Molloy College in the first game of the DoubleTree Kickoff Classic. In the second game Merrimack College held off Felician College 2-1. Rob Pierce (Charlotte, Vt./Westminster), at left, scored the game-winning goal, and Jason Burnett stopped 11 shots in net for the Purple Knights.
