COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College had 228 student-athletes qualify for the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall semester, including 16 from the men's lacrosse team:
Seniors T.J. Bicknell (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) and Brian Devilly (Norwell, Mass./Norwell); junior Colin Cronin (North Andover, Mass./North Andover); sophomores Matt Arnold (Cohasset, Mass./Cohasset), Bobby Frank (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs), Neil Gallagher (Sudbury, Mass./Green Mountain Valley School), Matt Hanley (Plainview, N.Y./Bethpage), Dan Johnson (Ringwood, N.J./Don Bosco Prep), Brian Loughlin (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston), Spencer Ralston (Hebron, Conn./Cushing Academy), Patch Ryan (Holden, Mass./Saint John's) and Jake Sonberg (Bedford, N.H./Bishop Guertin); and first-years Matt Cotter (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxboro Regional), Conor DiNatale (Needham, Mass./Needham), PJ Johnson (Scituate, Mass./Groton School) and James Modic (Pocasset, Mass./Bourne).
Saint Michael's placed 10th among the league's 15 institutions in total honorees, while it was eighth by having 62 percent of its NE-10 student-athletes land on the Commissioner's Honor Roll. Student-athletes that earn a minimum 3.0 GPA during a given semester are eligible for the accolade. Eighteen of the Purple Knights' squads compete in the NE-10.
The field hockey team topped Saint Michael's with 22 honorees, tying for first in the NE-10, while women's cross country, men's ice hockey and women's soccer each had 20 qualifiers. Men's ice hockey also tied for the conference lead, and women's cross country took second. Baseball claimed 18 qualifiers and women's lacrosse had 17.
