COLCHESTER, Vt. - Twenty-one veterans return in 2018-19 to the Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team, which has had the most sustained success among Northeast-10 Conference teams of late by qualifying for the postseason championship game four times in the last five years.

Saint Michael's lost an exhibition game, 6-3, last Saturday at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, which is receiving votes toward the latest U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) Division III national poll ... the Purple Knights begin the season by hosting SUNY Potsdam on Friday to kick off a home-and-home weekend series ... after starting its NE10 slate at Southern New Hampshire University next Tuesday, the Purple and Gold plays its next five games at home, beginning with a title game rematch against Saint Anselm on Nov. 2 ... among the Purple Knights' non-conference opponents is Nichols College, which was ranked 15th in the latest USCHO Division III national poll and qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division III Tournament ... Saint Michael's faces each NE10 opponent for two-game weekend series in the second semester ... the four-team NE10 Championship begins on Feb. 23.
