COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College men's basketball senior Mike Holton Jr. (Portland, Ore./The Winchendon School) earned a selection to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Feb. 15. Holton was recognized for the eighth time this winter.
Holton turned in 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists to 1.0 turnover, and 1.5 steals during an 0-2 week. In a 97-76 loss at regionally-ranked Saint Anselm College on Wednesday, he totaled 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals while shooting 6-of-13 before collecting 16 points on 4-of-9 three-point shooting, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in a 77-76 loss at Bentley University on Saturday. The team's leading scorer (14.7), Holton has a squad-best 49 three-pointers and is second in steals (17) and third in assists (49). He is 14th in the NE-10 in threes and 15th in free throw shooting (80.0%). Through 106 career games, Holton is seventh in program history in scoring (1,658), fifth in three-pointers (209), 10th in free throws (349), tied for 14th in field goals (550) and 17th in assists (265).
Saint Michael's is 15-8 overall and 11-7 in the NE-10 while tying for eighth in the latest D2SIDA East Region Media Poll. With three regular-season games remaining, the Purple Knights are tied for third in the NE-10 Northeast Division with Stonehill College, just one game out of second place. They host Assumption College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
