COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College had 215 student-athletes qualify for the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall semester, including seven from the men's basketball team:
Seniors Mauri Boschetti (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) and Mike Holton Jr. (Portland, Ore./The Winchendon School); juniors Will Davis (Valley Stream, N.Y./Holy Cross) and Morrell Gaskins (Cambria Heights, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy); sophomores David Sullivan (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Saint Augustine Prep) and Zaire Williams (Paterson, N.J./Newark Academy); and first-year Bruno Beca (Zagreb, Croatia/Westchester Country Day School).
Saint Michael's was ninth among the league's 15 institutions in total honorees, but fourth by having 67 percent of its NE-10 student-athletes land on the Commissioner's Honor Roll. Student-athletes that earn a minimum 3.0 GPA during a given semester are eligible for the accolade. Eighteen of the Purple Knights' squads compete in the NE-10.
The field hockey team topped Saint Michael's with 24 honorees, while baseball was next with 20. Men's ice hockey (19), men's lacrosse (19), women's cross country (18), women's swimming & diving (17), women's soccer (16) and women's lacrosse (14) were closeby. Field hockey's 24 qualifiers led the NE-10's 12 programs, women's swimming & diving was second out of nine, men's ice hockey was third among six, and men's swimming & diving (11) was tied for third out of seven.
