Birr is the second member of Saint Michael’s Class of 2011, following the signing last month of Chris Hurley (Watertown, Mass./Boston College HS).

He tallied 18 points and seven rebounds in the Purple Knights' quarterfinal loss at the College of Saint Rose last week.

The Purple Knights, who were led by senior Brendan Mullins' (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) game-high 26 points, enter the NE-10 Tournament as the sixth seed, and will host 11th-seeded Assumption College at the Ross Sports Center on Saturday, with a tentative start time of 2 p.m.
