  • Baseball Announces Dates For Upcoming Clinic; Names 2010 Captains

    COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College baseball team, led by second-year head coach Paul Morgan, will be offering a two-day youth clinic on Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29, from 12:30-2:30 p.m. inside the College's Tarrant Recreation Center. Also, Morgan has announced the Purple Knights' captains for the 2010 spring season: seniors Matt Beaulieu (Littleton, Mass./Lawrence Academy), Tim Pilczak (Cohasset, Mass./Kents Hill School), and Kevin Wickles (Hatfield, Mass./Suffield Academy).

    COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael’s College rising senior Matt Beaulieu (Littleton, Mass./Lawrence Academy) has taken his game to new heights this summer, as the baseball standout signed a contract last week to play for the New Bedford (Mass.) Bay Sox of the prestigious New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). Beaulieu is believed to be the first Saint Michael’s student-athlete to play in the NECBL since the league was founded in 1993. The 12-team league features organizations from all six New England states, including the Vermont Mountaineers based in Montpelier.

    COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College junior Matt Beaulieu (Littleton, Mass./Lawrence Academy), coming off of one of the finest seasons in program history, was named to the 2009 Daktronics NCAA Division II Baseball All-East Region Second Team, it was announced on Wednesday. Beaulieu is one of three outfielders named to the Second Team, as he batted .448 this spring and set a program record with 56 base hits.
  • Baseball Splits Doubleheader With Plattsburgh, Wins Nightcap, 6-4

    Colchester, Vt. – The Saint Michael’s College baseball team (15-19) split a doubleheader with Plattsburgh State University (Vt.) (23-15, 7-5 SUNYAC), dropping the first game, 9-4, and winning the second game, 6-4, Wednesday afternoon on Doc Jacobs Field on Senior Day. Senior Joe Gil (Andover, Mass./Andover) went 3-for-7 with two runs scored and an RBI in his final two games as a Purple Knight. The Purple Knights’ 15 wins this season is the fourth most wins in the program’s history.
