30 Saint Michael's student-athletes inducted into honor societies during 2015-16 school year

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Thirty Saint Michael's College student-athletes were inducted into 11 different academic honor societies during the 2015-16 school year, including five into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and largest academic honor society. Founded in 1776, it promotes excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. This spring, Saint Michael's also inducted its fourth class into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society.

A trio of May graduates - women's basketball's Makenzie Burud (Red Hook, N.Y./Coleman Catholic), women's ice hockey's Amanda Kempainen (Chazy, N.Y./Chazy Flyers U19) and women's swimming & diving's Julie Shea (Peabody, Mass./Peabody Veterans Memorial/Assumption) - led the way with three inductions apiece in 2015-16.

Three Honor Societies
