COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College had 197 student-athletes qualify for the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring semester, including 10 that posted a 4.0 grade-point average last semester.
Saint Michael's was seventh among the league's 16 institutions in total honorees, and third by having 55 percent of its NE-10 student-athletes land on the Commissioner's Honor Roll. Student-athletes that earn a minimum 3.0 GPA during a given semester are eligible for the accolade. Eighteen of the Purple Knights' squads compete in the NE-10.
Recent women's basketball graduate Megan Olsen (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) was among the 10 4.0 student-athletes, earning a perfect GPA for the sixth consecutive semester, while rising softball senior Amanda Brigante (Colchester, Vt./Colchester) posted her fourth straight 4.0 GPA. Recent graduates Rachele Bernache (Rockland, Mass./Rockland) of women's basketball, Colby MacDonald (Byfield, Mass./Valley Jr. Warriors) of men's ice hockey, and Eric Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C./Pinecrest) of men's tennis all recorded their second consecutive perfect GPA.
Rounding out the 4.0 student-athletes for the spring semester were recent men's tennis graduate Chris Moskal (Springfield, Mass./Cathedral), recent women's soccer graduate Natalie Zimmer (Ingleside, Ontario/Cornwall Collegiate & Vocational School), rising field hockey junior Sarah Healey (Canton, Mass./Canton), rising women's lacrosse junior Melissa Jaskiewicz (Kensington, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) and rising field hockey sophomore Kelsie Miller (Templeton, Mass./Narragansett Regional).
The field hockey program topped Saint Michael's with 22 honorees, while men's ice hockey and softball each had 17 qualifiers.
