COLCHESTER, Vt. - In the wake of the fatal bus accident involving the Seton Hill (Pa.) University women's lacrosse team on Saturday, the Saint Michael's College men's and women's lacrosse squads will join college and high school teams from around the region in holding Play 4 Seton Hill events over the next four days.
Seton Hill head coach Kristie Quigley and her unborn child both lost their lives in the crash. The Purple Knights will honor them and the Griffin program by displaying Seton Hill's colors - crimson and gold - on their uniforms and equipment during their games this week. Fans are encouraged to wear crimson and gold, and ribbons will be available for free to all in attendance. Wrist sweatbands reading "One Lax Family - KQ" will be sold for $8, with proceeds going toward a scholarship fund set up for Quigley's son, Gavin. Nearly $44,000 has been raised for the scholarship fund since it was established three days ago.
On Thursday at 3 p.m. on Duffy Field, women's lacrosse hosts Southern New Hampshire University, which held its own Play 4 Seton Hill event on Monday. On Saturday, the women take on Southern Connecticut State University at 12 p.m. before the men face The College of Saint Rose at 3 p.m. in their home opener.
