EASTON, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College women placed seventh out of 15 schools, while the Purple Knight men finished 13th, at the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Cross Country Championships on Sunday, hosted by Stonehill College.
On the women's side, junior Mary Lynn Denholm (Sparks, Md./Okemo Mountain School) placed 25th out of 131 runners in a time of 20:16.0, leading a balanced attacked. Classmate Rachel Baxter (Rowayton, Conn./Proctor Academy) was right behind Denholm, placing 26th in a time of 20:19.9. Three other Purple Knights ran the course in less than 22 minutes
On the men's side, junior Matt Alexander (Richmond, Vt./Mount Mansfield Union) finished 67th out of 133 runners, finishing in a time of 28:50.9. Freshman Brendan Flynn (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) was second for Saint Michael's, finishing 78th with a time of 29:27.0.
Saint Michael's resumes to action on November 3 with the NCAA Regionals, held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y.
