COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's volleyball junior Tanner Barton (Hudson Falls, N.Y./Hudson Falls) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Oct. 14. It was the initial accolade of her college career.
During a three-match week, Barton turned in 5.2 digs per set and 15.7 per match with only two reception errors. She averaged 6.2 digs per set in her two matches as a libero, posting 18.5 per match while being aced only once. In her first outing of the week, Barton had eight kills, 10 digs and one assist as an outside hitter at Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday. She moved to libero for the weekend, posting 18 digs on Friday versus The College of Saint Rose and another 19 digs against Le Moyne College on Saturday.
Barton leads the Purple Knights in kills (66) and digs (164) while adding six aces and five blocks, ranking eighth in the NE10 in digs per set (3.8). She has already set a career high in digs while approaching the personal best of 81 kills she registered as a sophomore. Kaitlyn Rae '06 was the last Purple Knight to finish a season as the team leader in both kills and digs, in 2005.
