Heidi Murphy, a four-year standout for the Saint Michael's College women's tennis team from 2003-06, returns to the Purple Knights for her fourth season as an assistant coach in 2009-10.
In her first three seasons as an assistant, she has helped lead Saint Michael's to the three winningest seasons in program history. The Purple Knights have compiled a 43-21 record in her three years as an assistant, including the first two NCAA Tournaent appearances in program history.
Murphy, a former captain and No. 1 singles player, earned the College's George "Doc" Jacobs Award as a senior in 2006. The award is presented annually to a male and female student who makes a truly outstanding contribution to the athletic department. As a student-athlete, Murphy led the Purple Knights to a 43-21 record playing under Cluff and former head coach Steve LaTulippe.
