Women's Tennis Dream Season Ends With 5-0 Loss At California (Pa.) In NCAA Tournament

(May 8, 2008) SOUTH PARK, Fla. - The Saint Michael's College women's tennis team (15-7) saw the finest season in program history come to an end in the First Round of the NCAA Division II Tournament on Thursday, as the Purple Knights fell at third-ranked California University of Pennsylvania, 5-0. Sophomore Lindsay Horne (Scituate, Mass./Scituate) earned three of the four games that Saint Michael's won on the day, as the Purple Knights were making their first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. Wood Winds Up On Northeast-10 All-Academic First Team

(May 6, 2008) COLCHESTER, Vt.- On top of compiling a record of 16-14 this season and leading the Saint Michael's College women's tennis team to their first ever NCAA tournament berth (Thursday, May 8 at West Liberty State College), senior Michelle Wood (Chatham, N.Y./Chatham) earned a spot on the six-person Northeast-10 All-Academic First Team on Tuesday.
