Saint Michael's women's soccer to host free clinic for disabled youths on Saturday
COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's soccer team will hold its annual free clinic on Saturday for children and young adults with any kind of physical or developmental disability in conjunction with the Eric D. Dettenrieder (EDD) Memorial Fund at the Doc Jacobs Field Complex at 11 a.m.
The Purple Knights will teach skills in a non-competitive setting, with a scrimmage, lunch and an awards ceremony to follow. No prior soccer experience is necessary for attendees. Pre-registration is required for those who plan to attend. To pre-register or for more information, contact EDD Memorial Fund Director Gretchen Owens at (802) 399-4366 or events@eddfund.org, or visit www.eddfund.org.
The EDD Memorial Fund, which is named for the late Dettenrieder, who worked as a ski instructor for terminally ill children, serves to build self-confidence and purpose in young people with disabilities through providing sports opportunities. The fund, which offers the majority of its programs in Central New York, provides recreational and competitive sports programs for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.
