COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse seniors Kate Martin (Mattapoisett, Mass./Bishop Stang) and Alex Vincent (Rush, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women) were both named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, March 10.
Martin had two goals, three assists, three ground balls, five draw controls and a caused turnover out of the midfield during a season-opening 13-6 victory over Saint Thomas Aquinas (N.Y.) College on Friday. She set career highs in points (5), assists and draw controls while matching a high in ground balls, as she had six career helpers entering the game. Martin is third in the NE10 in assists per game, eighth in points per game, and tied for eighth in both draw control and ground ball average. Among all NCAA Division II players, she is tied for 13th in assists.
Vincent collected three goals, one assist, one ground ball, one draw control and one caused turnover from her spot on attack against Saint Thomas Aquinas. She became the 17th player in program history to reach the 100-point plateau during the contest, increasing her career total to 103 through 45 games. Vincent is tied for 19th in program history in goals (81) with Kathy McNabb '85, having registered 14 career hat tricks. Vincent collected 49 points last spring - on 38 goals and 11 assists - for the 10th-highest season points figure in program history.
The Purple Knights host No. 2 Adelphi University on Wednesday at 3 p.m. for their NE10 opener. The Panthers' national ranking is according to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
