COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse senior Paige MacKinnon (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) earned a spot on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, April 30.
MacKinnon notched six goals, one assist, nine ground balls, four draw controls and one caused turnover during a 1-1 week. During a 15-12 loss at Bentley University on Wednesday, she posted one goal, one assist, four ground balls, one draw control and one caused turnover before collecting a career-high five goals, five ground balls and three draw controls in a 17-13 win over American International College on Saturday in her final college game.
From the midfield, MacKinnon led the team in draw controls (31), tied for the top spot in goals (26), took second in ground balls (29), and was third in both points (28) and caused turnovers (14). All were outright career highs except her draw control count, which matched a personal best. MacKinnon, who suffered a season-ending injury in the 2016 opener and played a reserve role her rookie season, concluded her 38-game career with 44 goals, 50 points, 63 draw controls, 49 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers. She is 10th in school history in draw controls.
Saint Michael's went 3-4 down the stretch, with three of those losses coming by five goals or fewer, including two at nationally-ranked opponents. The Purple Knights ended the year 4-10 overall and 3-10 in the NE10.
