Women's lacrosse freshman Boyer lauded as NE-10 Rookie of the Week

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse freshman Kate Boyer (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle) was named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, April 29.

Boyer netted two hat tricks while potting seven goals in three games last week. She scored and added a ground ball at Southern New Hampshire University on Tuesday before netting a trio of goals at American International College on Saturday, adding a ground ball and a draw control. On Sunday against Queens (N.Y.) College, which was receiving votes toward the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) national poll, Boyer scored three more times on just five shots in an 11-9 victory. She scooped up two ground balls while causing a turnover.

Boyer completed her rookie campaign second on the team in goals (17) and third in points (19) while appearing in 15 games, drawing 14 starts. She added eight draw controls and seven caused turnovers.

The Purple Knights finished their season at 4-12 overall and 1-11 in the NE-10 this spring.
