The game was tied at 3-all midway through the first half, but Merrimack then went on a 7-0 run over an eight-minute span to take a 10-3 lead. Saint Michael's cut its deficit to 10-5 at halftime, but the Warriors scored the first four goals of the second half to seal the win.
