COLCHESTER, Vt. ? The Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse team defeated American International College, 23-3, on Saturday afternoon at Duffy Field at Doc Jacobs Sports Complex. The Purple Knights had five players with at least two goals, including senior tri-captain Megan Rule (Bow, N.H./Bow) who recorded eight points with four goals and four assists for the Purple Knights.
For the Purple Knights (3-3, 2-1 NE-10), senior tri-captain Megan Lagasse (Newburyport, Mass./Governor Dummer Academy) tallied three goals and three assists for six points, while sophomore Brynne Curran (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) posted four goals and an assist for five points. Sophomore Kim Berlo (Scituate, Mass./Scituate) scored four goals and classmate Amanda Pelley (Mashpee, Mass./Falmouth) netted two goals and added an assist in the victory. Freshman Madeleine Cave (Thomaston, Maine/Gould Academy) recorded a goal and an assist off the bench and freshman goaltender Sarah Landis (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) earned her first collegiate win in goal, making five saves.
For the Yellow Jackets (0-5, 0-3 NE-10), junior Caitlin Mooney (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) scored two goals and had an assist to lead American International, while senior Lindsay Wolfe (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) posted a goal in the defeat. Senior goaltender Megan Trytsman (Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa/Maris Stella) made 15 shots in net for the Yellow Jackets.
