COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse team (8-6, 5-5 NE-10) closed out the regular season with a 14-10 loss to Bryant University (10-4, 8-2 NE-10) on Saturday afternoon at Duffy Field.

For the Bulldogs, juniors Shaun Leddy (Sea Girt, N.J./Manasquan), Lauren Carlisle (San Diego, Calif./Mount Carmel), and Amanda Gallant (Andover, Mass./Andover) each scored three goals, while senior Marie Grant (Weston, Mass./Weston) made 11 stops in net.

For the Purple Knights, Kristen Palazzo (Armonk, N.Y./Bryam Hills) scored three times in the senior's last collegiate home game, and was joined by defender Noel Smith (Somers, Conn./Sommers) in her final game at Saint Michael's. In goal, sophomore Courtney Wakem (Tiverton, R.I./Tiverton) made eight saves.

Freshman Delia Glover (Marston Mills, Mass./Barnstable) scored the contest's first goal at the 3:53 mark of the first half, and put Bryant up for good, as the Bulldogs never gave up their lead. With the score 3-0, junior Megan Lagasse (Newburyport, Mass./Governor Dummer) put the home team on the board 10:36 into the opening frame, and freshman Ava Gottshall (Amherst, Mass./Amherst) pulled the Purple Knights within one less than two minutes later, but once again the visitors scored three unanswered goals to extend their lead at 6-2. Over the final 13:56 of the first half, the each side traded goals and entered the intermission with Bryant holding a 10-6 advantage.

Just 57 seconds into the second half, Leddy scored what would eventually prove to be the game winner, and added an insurance goal just over four minutes later to complete her hat-trick. Saint Michael's out shot their opponent 34-30, and scored four goals to Bryant's three over the final 21:26, but ultimately dropped their third consecutive game.

Bryant plays again on Wednesday when it hosts a Northeast-10 tournament quarterfinal game against a yet to be determined opponent, while Saint Michael's will learn their postseason fate with the outcome of other conference games taking place this afternoon.
