Purple Knight Women Face 3-1 Setback At Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. - Saint Michael's women's ice hockey (3-17-1, 1-15-1 ECAC East) faced their sixth straight loss, having been defeated 3-1 by the Holy Cross Crusaders (16-3-1, 13-1-1) on Saturday at the Hart Center.

Freshman Allison Graf (Long Lake, Minn./Minnesota Thoroughbreds) netted the first puck of the afternoon on a power play midway through the opening frame, assisted by junior Kelly Rose Losi (Milton, Mass./Milton) and senior Sarah Landis (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth). Junior Alysia Goldman (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Hebron Academy) stopped 33 shots on goal in the contest.

The Crusaders answered back to tie the game 1-all at the end of the first period before netting two more goals in the second. The Purple Knights were able to hold the opponent scoreless in the final frame, but were unable to find the back of the net, as they were held to 11 shots in the contest.

Saint Michael's will have a rematch with the Crusaders at 2 p.m. this Sunday at the Hart Center.
