Women's Ice Hockey Suffers 4-0 Setback To 10th-Ranked Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team (3-13-1, 1-11-1 ECAC East) hung tough in a 4-0 setback at 10th-ranked Manhattanville College in conference action on Friday evening.

Freshman Erin Stevens (Watertown, Conn./Connecticut Polar Bears) stopped 38 shots in the loss.

The Valiants outshot Saint Michael's 42-17 in the contest. Manhattanville netted two goals in the first seven minutes of the contest to seize control, and added a shorthanded tally in the second period, followed by a power-play score with eight minutes left in the contest.

Holly Nonis's two goals led the hosts, while Katie Little added a goal and an assist. Sophia Kokkonis stopped 17 shots to earn the shutout for Manhattanville (10-4-1, 8-2-1 ECAC East).

Saint Michael's returns to action on Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. contest at league-rival Salve Regina University.
