HARRISVILLE, R.I. - The Purple Knight women (3-11-1, 1-10-1 ECAC East) faced a 2-2 draw with the Nichols College Bison (1-10-2, 1-7-2 ECAC East) on Friday at June Rockwell Levy Rink. The game marked the first of eight straight games Saint Michael's will play on the road this next month.

Senior Desiree Biron (Bow, N.H./The Gunnery School/University of Vermont) tied the game with her 10th goal of the season on a play from junior Emily Paquin (Bowie, Md./Washington Pride) in the second period. The point tied the game after the Bison's had taken the lead in the opening frame. Just 13 seconds into the third period, senior co-captain Meghan Sweezey (Lynnfield, Mass./Lynnfield) notched an unassisted goal to give Saint Michael's the 2-1 lead. Nichols caught up with the Purple Knights in the third frame, forcing the game into overtime.

The score remained 2-2 at the end of extra time. Junior Alysia Goldman (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Hebron Academy) guarded her net, setting aside 31 shots in the contest.

The Purple Knights will face-off against Southern Maine on Saturday for a 4 p.m. ECAC East contest.
