HENNIKER, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team (0-2-0, 0-2-0 ECAC East) took host New England College to overtime on Saturday afternoon before falling to the Pilgrims, 3-2.
For Saint Michael's, junior Emily Paquin (Bowie, Md./Washington Pride) and senior Molly DiMasi (Burlington, Vt./Burlington) scored second-period goals six minutes apart to give the visitors a 2-1 lead. Senior Sarah Landis (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) and junior Kelly Rose Losi (Milton, Mass./Milton) assisted on Paquin's goal, which came just 15 seconds into the frame, while seniors Desiree Biron (Bow, N.H./The Gunnery School) and Alexis Regan (Canton, Mass./Canton) assisted on DiMasi's tally.
Freshman Erin Stevens (Watertown, Conn./Connecticut Polar Bears) stopped 34 of 37 shots for the Purple Knights, who allowed two power play goals in regulation.
Saint Michael's returns to action on Friday, as the Purple Knights begin a seven-game homestand with a 7 p.m. contest versus the University of Southern Maine at Cairns Arena in South Burlington.
