COLCHESTER, Vt. - Five Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey student-athletes were named to the 2008-09 ECAC Women's East All-Academic Team, it was announced on Wednesday.
The five student-athletes honored for the Purple Knights include: senior Kelly Adams (Chevy Chase, Md./Washington Little Caps); juniors Alexis Regan (Canton, Mass./Canton) and Meghan Sweezey (Lynnfield, Mass./Lynnfield); and sophomores Meghan Colitti (Dover, N.H./Berwick Academy) and Kaleigh Ferrari (Millbrook, N.Y./The Millbrook School).
To be named to the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic year, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, and played in at least half of the team's games this past season.
The quintet helped lead Saint Michael's to a 6-18-3 record in 2008-09, tying for the second-most victories in a season in program history.
