COLCHESTER, Vt. - For the fifth time in six weeks this winter, Saint Michael's College women's basketball senior Nicole Adach (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll, being lauded with her current accolade for the week ending on Sunday, Dec. 16.
Adach averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds - including 5.0 offensive rebounds - on 56.0 percent shooting (14-for-25) from the field and 87.5 percent shooting (7-for-8) on free throws. On Saturday, Adach had 22 points, 10 rebounds and one steal in a 64-57 win at Queens College, going 9-of-15 from the floor and 4-of-5 at the charity stripe. Eight of her rebounds came on the offensive end. On Sunday, she turned in 13 points, five rebounds, an assist and a steal in a 60-53 setback to Dominican College. Adach hit 5-of-10 from the field and all three freebie tries.
Adach is first in the NE-10 in shooting (57.9), second in foul shooting (90.2), third in scoring (17.6) and fifth in offensive rebounding (3.3). In addition to averaging a career-high 1.9 steals, the 6-foot post turns in a career-high-tying 7.1 boards in 33.8 minutes per contest, also shooting 7-of-13 from three-point range after hitting 15 total threes her first three years. Adach is 24th in Division II in field goal shooting and 25th in free throw percentage.
The Purple Knights, who are 2-8 overall and 0-6 in the league, break until heading to Franklin Pierce University on Jan. 6 for a 1:30 p.m. contest.
