COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team used a 24-6 second-half run to pull away for a 60-46 exhibition win versus McGill University on Sunday afternoon at the Ross Sports Center.

Senior Logan Pintka (Schenectady, N.Y./Colonie Central) led the way with a game-high 18 points and seven rebounds as 11 Purple Knights scored in the win. Sophomore Nicole Adach (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen) added seven points and four rebounds off the bench, while senior Marilyn Ferreira (New London, N.H./Kearsarge Regional) contributed six assists and five rebounds.

For McGill, sophomore Marie-Eve Martin (Granby, Quebec) was the lone double-digit scorer, netting a team-best 17 points.

Following an evenly-played first half that saw Saint Michael's open a 27-24 lead at intermission, the visiting Martlets pulled to within one point on their first possession of the second half. That was as close as McGill would get, however, as the Purple Knights forced seven McGill turnovers over the next 12 minutes during its game-changing run, taking a 51-32 lead with seven minutes to go. The Martlets could get no closer than 13 points after that, as Saint Michael's limited McGill to just 6-of-26 3-point shooting in the contest, and held a convincing 43-26 rebounding advantage.

The Purple Knights pulled away thanks to a sizable advantage from the charity stripe, as Saint Michael's made 10-of-13 free throws in the second half (and 13-of-17 in the game), compared to just 2-of-2 free throw shooting in the contest for McGill.

Saint Michael's opens the regular season on November 17 with a 5:30 p.m. contest at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
