Women's Basketball To Visit Saint Rose In NE-10 Playoffs On Sunday

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team (14-12, 11-11 Northeast-10 Conference) will look to defeat the College of Saint Rose for the third time this season on Sunday at 2 p.m. when the 10th-seeded Purple Knights visit the seventh-seeded Golden Knights in the First Round of the NE-10 Tournament.

The winner of Sunday's game advances to the NE-10 Quarterfinals, and will visit second-seeded Stonehill College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Saint Michael's is riding plenty of momentum heading to Sunday's contest. The Purple Knights have won their last two games, including Monday's dramatic 57-56 win versus Pace University on freshman Caitlin Quinn's (Oakdale, Conn./Montville) buzzer-beating 3-pointer. Saint Michael's also swept the regular-season series versus Saint Rose, as the Purple Knights claimed a 68-66 win at Saint Rose on December 6, and a 64-55 home victory versus the Golden Knights on February 4.

The Purple Knights are led by junior Alexis Keller (Harrington Park, N.J./Old Tappan). She leads the team with 14.2 points per game, and is fifth in the NE-10 in 3-point shooting at 40.7 percent. Sophomore Logan Pintka (Niskayuna, N.Y./Colonie Central) and Michelle Otey (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) also are scoring in double figures for Saint Michael's.

Saint Rose (18-9, 13-9 NE-10) is seventh in this week's East Regional Poll. The Golden Knights, however, are expected to be without their leading scorer, Lauren Revesz, who is sidelined with a bad back.
