COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team (13-14, 9-13 Northeast-10 Conference) closed out the regular season with a 69-59 overtime setback to Southern New Hampshire University in league action on Tuesday at the Ross Sports Center.

With the win, Southern New Hampshire earns the 10th seed in the NE-10 Playoffs, and will visit seventh-seed Le Moyne College in a First Round contest on Sunday at 2 p.m. Saint Michael's, meanwhile, earns the 11th seed, and will travel to sixth-seed Bryant University on Sunday for a 2 p.m. First Round game.

For SNHU (13-14, 9-13 NE-10), junior Stephanie Houghton (Manchester, N.H./Manchester West) was the lone player to score in double figures, netting 16 points. Her 3-pointer with nine seconds left in regulation evened the score at 54-all and forced overtime, where the Penmen outscored Saint Michael's 15-5.

For the Purple Knights, sophomore Michelle Otey (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) netted a career-high 21 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. The game was close throughout, with the score tied at 23 at halftime. Saint Michael's stretched its lead to a game-high eight points, 39-31, with nine minutes remaining. The Penmen cut their deficit to one on a couple occasions, but never pulled even until Houghton's long 3-pointer in the waning seconds forced overtime.
