COLCHESTER, Vt.- Sophomore Michelle Otey (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) and freshman Logan Pintka (Niskayuna, N.Y./Colonie) led the women's basketball team (9-5, 6-4 NE-10) to a 66-54 win over the Hawks of Saint Anselm (5-11, 2-9 NE-10) on Saturday afternoon at the Ross Sports Center. Otey finished with a game-high 17 points and 11 rebounds while Pintka poured in 15 paired with seven boards.
Coming off a two-game losing skid, the Purple Knights jumped out to an early lead, going into halftime with a 31-20 advantage. Sophomore Alexis Keller (Harrington Park, N.J./Old Tappan) played an overall solid game with 11 points, three boards, three assists and three steals.
For the Hawks, it was senior Rachel Reilly who scored a team-high 13 points and 11 rebounds while freshman Kirsten Doldoorian added 12 points and three assists.
The Purple Knights, previously ranked fifth in the Northeast-10, will hit the road again on Wednesday when they visit Merrimack for a 5:30 p.m. tip with the Warriors on Wednesday, January 16.
