EASTON, Mass.- The Saint Michael's women's basketball team could not overcome an 11-point halftime deficit at Merkert Gymnasium at Stonehill College on Saturday, falling to the Skyhawks by a score of 57-48. Sophomore guard Alexis Keller (Harrington Park, N.J.) was the only Purple Knight in double figures with 12 to go along with five boards and two steals. The Purple Knights continue their tour of Massachusetts with another road game at Assumption College in Worcester on January 10 for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
Junior forward Kelsey Simonds (Middleboro, Mass.) led the Skyhawks with 14 points, eight rebounds and five blocks, deterring any penetration by Saint Michael's. Junior Bethany Tighe (N. Easton, Mass.) came off the bench to score 12 points and grab nine rebounds to help Stonehill to an 8-1 Northeast-10 mark.
