COLCHESTER, Vt. ? The Saint Michael's women's basketball team (4-1, NE-10 2-0) rebounded from Saturday's loss with a 71-61 victory over Pace University at the Ross Sports Center. The difference in the game was on the boards, as Saint Michael's outrebounded Pace, 44-25.
Freshman Logan Pintka (Niskayuna, N.Y./Colonie) led Saint Michael's with a career-high 16 points while collecting six rebounds. Pintka also shot 12-14 from the free throw line. Sophomore Alexis Keller (Harrington, N.J./Old Tappan) added 15 points and four rebounds off the bench for the Purple Knights, a team that shot 44 percent on the afternoon. Senior Allison Dunn (Whippany, N.J./Morris Catholic) scored 12 points while collecting a career-high nine rebounds and had four steals for Saint Michael's.
For Pace University, it was senior Stephanie Klingele's (Staten Island, N.Y./St. John Villa) game-high 23 points and three rebounds that led the Setters. Klingele was 5-9 from the three-point line. Classmate Stephanie Rossmy (Staten Island, N.Y./St. John Villa) added in 15 points and five rebounds.
The Purple Knights held a 38-36 halftime lead. After the game was tied at 50 midway through the second half, Saint Michael's would outscore Pace 9-0 over the next seven minutes and never look back.
Saint Michael's is back in action on Wednesday when they host conference opponent Merrimack College at the Ross Sports Center. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m. Pace will next play on Wednesday when they travel to Franklin Pierce University for a 5:30 p.m. game.
