Women's Basketball Posts 75-66 Win At Southern New Hampshire

HOOKSETT, N.H. - Balanced scoring was the key as Saint Michael's College (7-6, 4-5 Northeast-10 Conference) posted a 75-66 women's basketball victory at Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday at the SNHU Fieldhouse.

Six players scored at least eight points for Saint Michael's, led by junior Adrienne Carpenter (Princeton, Mass./Wachusett Regional) and sophomore Anna Florent (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider), who tallied a team-high and career-high 16 points apiece. Juniors Allison Dunn (Whippany, N.J./Morris Catholic) and Amy Pitchers (Oxford Mills, Ontario/North Grenville District) added 11 points apiece, with Pitchers grabbing a team-best seven rebounds. Senior Jevy Rayner (Westminster, Vt./Bellows Falls Union) chipped in with nine points, while twin sister Dani Rayner (Westminster, Vt./Bellows Falls Union) added eight points.

For Southern New Hampshire (5-9, 3-7 NE-10), Stephanie Houghton had a game-high 21 points, while Sara Tucker added 18 points and nine rebounds.

Saint Michael's led by as many as 10 points midway through the first half, and never trailed after the opening minutes. The Purple Knights held a slim 35-33 lead at the break, but shot 60 percent from the field in the second half to hold off the Penmen.

Saint Michael's returns to action on Saturday with a 1:30 p.m. home contest against league-rival Stonehill College at the Ross Sports Center.
