COLCHESTER, Vt. ? The Saint Michael's College volleyball team (11-12, 2-9 Northeast-10 Conference) suffered a 3-1 setback to Southern New Hampshire University in conference action on Saturday at the Ross Sports Center. The visiting Penmen won game #1, 25-22, and after falling in the second game, 25-20, completed the win with 25-18 and 31-29 victories in games three and four.
For SNHU (8-11, 5-6 NE-10), senior Brianna Doucet (Danville, N.H.) tallied a team-best 20 kills and 18 digs, while sophomore Stephanie Dluginski (Floral Park, N.Y.) added 12 kills. Senior Nicky Dumond (Tewksbury, Mass.) added a team-best 20 assists in the victory.
For the Purple Knights, sophomore Lindsey Frazier (Albany, N.Y./Colonie Central) posted 20 kills and added five assisted blocks. Senior Amy Manougian (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) handed out 47 assists and added 14 digs, while classmate Stephanie Smetana (Independence, Mo./Truman) contributed 15 digs.
Saint Michael's plays its final home match of the season on Sunday, as the Purple Knights host Saint Anselm College for a 1 p.m. match. SNHU next plays on Tuesday at Bentley University at 7:30 p.m.
