Chris Kilmer Promoted To Head Volleyball Coach

COLCHESTER, Vt. ? Saint Michael's College has announced that Chris Kilmer, an assistant coach for the Purple Knights' volleyball team for the last three seasons, has been promoted to head coach.

Kilmer, the eighth coach in the program's 29-year history, replaces Emily Decker, who resigned last month after four successful seasons as head coach of the NCAA Division II program. Decker led Saint Michael's to 28 wins in her four seasons, including an 11-victory campaign in 2006.

"I am both honored and excited by the opportunity to lead the Saint Michael's volleyball program," said Kilmer. "Emily did a tremendous job in building the program, and I look forward to continuing our quest to become one of the elite teams in the highly-competitive Northeast-10 Conference."

A 1999 graduate of Plymouth State College (now Plymouth State University), Kilmer was a four-year member of the Panthers' volleyball team, and also served as a student assistant coach for the women's program.
