Swimming Squads In Seventh After Day One Of NE-10 Championship

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Saint Michael's College men's and women's swimming squads are in seventh place on Friday after day one of the three-day Northeast-10 Conference Championship, hosted by Southern Connecticut State University.
Junior Eileen Mullowney (Burlington, Vt./Burlington) lowered her own program record in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing second in 25.00. She also helped the Purple Knights place a strong fifth in the women's 200-yard freestyle relay, along with freshman sister Julie Mullowney (Burlington, Vt./Burlington), junior Kaytlyn Kelley (Jefferson, Mass./Wachusett Regional), and sophomore Corine McAllister (South Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury).
On the men's side, junior Dan Healy (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) had the best Saint Michael's individual finish on Friday, placing 14th in the 50-yard freestyle. He also helped the Purple Knights place seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay, along with classmates Nick Franks (Needham, Mass./Needham) and Chris Hoey (Centerport, N.Y./St. Anthony's), and sophomore Andrew Marshall (Kittery, Maine/Saint Thomas Aquinas).
The meet continues on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
