LYME, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College ski team stands in 10th place midway through the two-day Dartmouth Carnival at Dartmouth Skiway on Friday.
Freshman Kerstin Middleton (Greenland, N.H./Proctor Academy) had the team's best finish so far with a 27th-place effort in the women's giant slalom with a time of 2:02.77. Also for the women, freshman Gabrielle Naranja (Fort Kent, Maine/Fort Kent Community) had a 57th-place finish in the five-kilometer freestyle.
On the men's side, junior Kevin O'Brien (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) took 29th place in the giant slalom with a time of 1:59.87. Junior Robert Sitzer (Lenox, Mass./Lenox Memorial) placed 51st in the 10-kilometer freestyle.
The Purple Knights begin day two of the Carnival on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
