STOWE, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College ski team sits in 10th place on Friday halfway through the two-day University of Vermont Carnival, held at Stowe Mountain Resort and Trapp Family Lodge.

Freshman Tim Spangler (Summit, N.J./Summit (Univ. of Colorado)) had a strong showing for the Purple Knights, finishing 24th in the men's giant slalom. Sophomore Christina Billotti (Massapequa, N.Y. (Green Mountain Valley School) led the Saint Michael's women with a 31st place giant slalom finish.

In Nordic action, junior Robert Sitzer (Lenox, Mass./Lenox Memorial) was 44th in the men's 20-kilometer classic mass start, and for the women, junior Samantha Martell (Georgia, Vt./BFA-Saint Albans (Saint Lawrence Univ.)) placed 60th in the 15-kilometer classic mass start.

The carnival concludes on Saturday starting at 9:30 a.m.
