Skiing Finishes In 10th Place At Saint Michael's Carnival

JEFFERSONVILLE and HUNTINGTON, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College ski team earned a 10th-place finish on Saturday at the two-day Saint Michael's Carnival, with Alpine events taking place at Smuggler's Notch, and Nordic competition held at Sleepy Hollow.

Senior Brad Harden (McConnellsville, N.Y./Northwood School) had his best showing of the season for the Purple Knights, placing 11th in Saturday's men's slalom. Also for the men, sophomore J.D. Levine (TorontoOntario/King's College) finished 21st, while classmate Nathan Bryant (Lee, N.H./Oyster River) placed 24th. On the women's side, freshman Gabbi Hall (Truckee, Calif./Forest Charter School) placed 21st in the slalom.

In Saturday's Nordic competition, the Purple Knights' team of junior Nigel Kinney (Chanhassen, Minn./Eden Prairie), sophomore Robert Sitzer (Lenox, Mass./Lenox Memorial) and freshman Colin Delaney (Lake Placid, N.Y./National Sports Academy) earned a 17th-place finish in the 3-by-3 sprint relay. For the women, senior Lauren Fereshetian (Turner, Maine/Leavitt Area), sophomore Samantha Martell (Saint Albans, Vt./Bellows Free Academy-Saint Albans) and freshman Julia Saliy (Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia/Vermont Academy) led the Purple Knights to a 25th-place finish in the 3-by-3 sprint relay.

Saint Michael's returns to action February 5-7 at the University of Vermont Carnival in Stowe.
