LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College skiing team opened the 2010 season with a 10th-place finish at the Saint Lawrence University Carnival on Friday and Saturday.
In Saturday's action, freshman Colin Delaney (Lake Placid, N.Y./National Sports Academy) led the way with a 17th-place finish in the men's 20-kilometer freestyle. Classmate Julia Saliy (Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia/Vermont Academy), meanwhile, led the Nordic women with a 63rd-place finish in the 15-kilometer freestyle.
In Saturday's alpine action, senior Brad Harden (McConnellsville, N.Y./Northwood School) led the men with a 17th-place finish in the slalom, while freshman Gabbi Hall (Truckee, Calif./Forest Charter School) paced the women with a 33rd-place slalom finish.
Saint Michael's returns to action next Friday and Saturday, as the Purple Knights host the Saint Michael's Carnival at Smuggler's Notch in Jeffersonville, and Sleepy Hollow in Huntington, with events starting at 9 a.m. both days.
