COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College skiing great Carolyn Heald Babbitt '88, a 1993 inductee into the Saint Michael's Athletics Hall of Fame, was honored with the Pico Ski Club Service Award, it was announced on Saturday.

The Pico Ski Club, based in Rutland, Vt., honored Babbitt at Saturday's season-ending dinner for her loyal dedication and commitment to the organization over the last two decades. She is the youngest person ever honored by the club.

Fred Bagley, a member of the Pico Ski Club, said in an email "It was noted that the club was honoring a strong female member of the club the same week we mourned the passing of a charter member, Andrea Mead Lawrence."

Babbitt, one of the greatest skiers in College history, won two NCAA Division II slalom championships during her illustrous career, and is the only female in school history to earn four Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association (EISA) All-East honors. She was inducted into the Saint Michael's Athletic Hall of Fame in her first year of eligibility.
