COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College had 230 student-athletes qualify for the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall semester, including 13 from the softball team:
Seniors Danielle Barbato (Hillsdale, N.Y./Taconic Hills), Christina Brazeau (Warwick, R.I./Saint Mary Academy-Bay View) and Caroline Staples (Stoughton, Mass./Fontbonne Academy); juniors Kaleigh Fallon (Mashpee, Mass./Sturgis Charter Public School), Hannah St. Don (Lakeville, Mass./Sacred Heart) and Chandler Wilder (Beverly, Mass./Bishop Fenwick); sophomores Anna Meusel (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxboro Regional) and Fallon Tierney (Reading, Mass./Reading Memorial); and first-years Aleksandra Apkarian (Butler, N.J./Butler), Danielle Markowski (Ellington, Conn./Ellington), Torie Rathwell (Guilderland, N.Y./Guilderland), Julia Sevigny (Rocky Hill, Conn./Rocky Hill) and Sarah Wight (Hingham, Mass./Hingham).
Meusel was among 12 Saint Michael's student-athletes to earn a 4.0 GPA.
Saint Michael's placed 11th among the league's 15 institutions in total honorees, but it was sixth by having 68 percent of its NE10 student-athletes land on the Commissioner's Honor Roll. Student-athletes that earn a minimum 3.0 GPA during a given semester are eligible for the accolade. Eighteen of the Purple Knights' squads compete in the NE10.
The men's lacrosse team topped Saint Michael's with 27 honorees apiece, while women's cross country (24), field hockey (23) and women's soccer (21) narrowly trailed.
