Saint Michael's softball works with pro players during weekend youth clinic

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College's Tarrant Recreation Center was the site of a Vermont Babe Ruth Softball clinic run by professional players Hillary Bach and Andrea Duran this past Saturday, when the Purple Knights helped the two players teach local youths at the event.The Saint Michael's softball players assisted the facilitation of instruction between Bach and Duran, and the nearly 50 local youths in attendance.

Bach, who graduated from Arizona State University in May, was recently named the Pac-12 Conference Woman of the Year and posted an 87-20 pitching record as a collegian. Duran, a two-time national champion at UCLA, earned a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics. Both are members of franchises in National Pro Fastpitch (NPF), a professional softball league with four teams spread across the United States.
